Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy made a trip to meet with Ukrainian forces in the Pokrovsk area on Tuesday. The president confirmed that he engaged with warriors at the command post of the initial brigade of the Ukrainian National Guard Azov, which is leading defense efforts in the Dobropillya area, a location approximately 12 miles from the focal point.

Critical Conditions in the Region

Updated analysis from a national effort revealed that Russian forces had pushed further into Pokrovsk and nearby locations, though a large portion remained beyond firm control by any party. The situation remains critical, with updates indicating that opposition troops were fortifying positions and building up positions in certain areas.

Opposition armies are making progress in the Pokrovsk direction and are reportedly acting with growing ease within Pokrovsk itself.

Military experts observed that national troops had recaptured substantial territory of a enemy advance in the Dobropillya front, on the eastern edge of the Pokrovsk operation.

Kyiv's Aerial Attacks Inside Russia

Kyiv's aerial vehicles attacked an industrial plant approximately 1,300km inside Russian territory at Sterlitamak. Local officials confirmed a blast at the Sterlitamak Petrochemical Plant that caused its water treatment facility to suffer damage, adding that the reason for the blast was undetermined. The national defense command stated there was extensive harm to the facility.

Ukraine's military said it struck a fuel processing plant at the location in Russia's Nizhny Novgorod region in central Russia. The extent of the damage was being assessed. The Russian regional governor acknowledged a strike by 20 drones near the area.

Moscow's Defense Strategic Shifts

Defense force members will now have to guard oil refineries against aerial attacks after the Russian leader signed a law on Tuesday expanding their participation in the military campaign. The Russian ruler also enacted a decree allowing military conscription throughout the year whereas earlier it occurred only during restricted intervals in autumn and spring. Moscow legally bars conscripts from being deployed to combat, but after their military service they enter Russia's reserves, putting them at risk of being deployed to conflict.

Ukrainian Leader's Calls for International Support

The Ukrainian president urged the US to continue considering to providing Ukraine with far-reaching military equipment. Appealing to European leaders from the eastern front, the head of state also called for more western sanctions on Russia – including on Russia's gas and nuclear sectors – and said he sought accession to the union by the end of the 2020s.
