The President Calls Loved Ones of Attacked Military Personnel to the Presidential Residence

President Donald Trump stated on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the loved ones of a Guard member killed last week to come to the White House.

He mentioned that he spoke to her parents and they were “heartbroken”.

Information on the Heartbreaking Incident

Soldier Beckstrom, twenty years old, was fatally shot in a violent incident on last Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her fellow service member, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, continues receiving treatment in critical condition.

Gatherings across West Virginia have been held in their memory.

Presidential Offer

The commander-in-chief stated he’s discussed a visit to the White House for the parents of both members of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I told them: ‘When you’re ready, because that’s a hard experience, visit the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” Trump told the press. “And in the same way with Andrew, no matter the outcome.”

Public Response

Community members assembled over the past few days at Webster County high school in the state to honor Sarah.

Both the soldiers had been working with the military unit as part of the president’s national effort to support public safety in DC.

Paying Tribute to Beckstrom

“Sarah was the kind of student that educators hoped for. She behaved with inner fortitude, a bright grin and a optimistic attitude that inspired those around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the leader of Beckstrom’s former high school, told the Associated Press. “She was caring, compassionate and always ready to support those in need.”

Memorial arrangements for Beckstrom are yet to be finalized.

Judicial Steps and Government Adjustments

Law enforcement have charged a twenty-nine-year-old suspect with one count of homicide and charges of attempted murder while armed.

The tragedy caused the government to suspend asylum applications and temporarily stop granting visas to possessors of travel documents.

Condition of Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a native of Martinsburg, began his service in 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, per the Associated Press.

He is still undergoing care and is “fighting for his life”, the state’s governor Patrick Morrisey stated on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

Attorney general the attorney general informed the program that she also intended to visit the family.

Memory of the Fallen Soldier

Sarah, from Summersville, graduated from her high school in mid-2023 and joined the military shortly after, serving as a military police officer with excellence, according to the state guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she absolutely had bravery,” Morrisey informed the audience at the service. “Though her life lasted far too short, she has left a mark that’s going to be remembered always.”
