Previous British Broadcasting Corporation Specialists Undergo MPs' Inquiry In the Wake of Claims of Bias in Unauthorized Memo
We begin with queries from Tory Member of Parliament the committee chair, that oversees the panel.
She initiates by providing background to the unauthorized memo authored by Michael Prescott and printed in a daily publication.
"I don't want the BBC tilting in any particular direction, I simply desire it balanced, unbiased and equitable," he says.
Upon being questioned whether he considers the British Broadcasting Corporation is institutionally biased, the adviser answers: "Absolutely not. To be clear, a great deal the British Broadcasting Corporation produces is world class - encompassing documentary and non-factual content."
Nevertheless, he states: "There exists substantial tasks that requires attention at the British Broadcasting Corporation."
A further former external BBC specialist interviewed by the panel, Caroline Daniel, states she views the British Broadcasting Corporation extremely earnestly and that it operates a "continuous process and vigorous discourse" on fluid and multifaceted issues.
"Whether the BBC was ready to conduct a thorough dialogue and debate and take action?" she questions. "As I see it, affirmative, they were."
