Dan Burn A nuisance on corners and free-kicks, as always, but may be an alternative to his teammate in the backline instead of his partner. One wayward distribution in the second half nearly resulted in the first goal for Albania. Six

Nico O’Reilly A further composed showing by the rising star after his first cap against another side. A teammate was unable to take full advantage of a clever flick behind the Albania defence. The role is his to lose so soon. 7

Adam Wharton His maiden beginning in an England shirt. A bit loose when playing out but his dangerous corners were a threat. A handy pace-controller available to the boss to have versus teams who drop deep. Booked for a rash challenge. 6

Declan Rice Crosses from corners and free kicks caused problems. Was given license to roam in left midfield only to be in an offside position when the ball arrived in front of goal. Given a well-earned rest around the 60-minute point. 6/10

Jude Bellingham Functioned in an advanced position out wide and also put in the hard yards. Showed flashes of quality and mishit a shot over. Withdrawn towards the end by a teammate, a fellow player, after being booked. Seven

The winger Was presented with the team's best chance before halftime, his effort well saved by Thomas Strakosha. As a teammate holding position, he was forced to offer an outlet down the right side but his crosses into the box were hit and miss. Replaced for the final quarter-hour. Six

The captain The decisive figure with his 77th and 78th goals in an England shirt. The opener a typical close-range tap-in and his next a superb header following a clever run off his defender. Aged 32, he’s only getting better with the national team stand a real opportunity in the upcoming tournament with him leading the line. 8

Eberechi Eze Found it tough to influence play out wide. Was presented with a good opening when set up by Bellingham but Strakosha denied him. His replacement had a greater influence when substituted. 5/10
