Beloved Performer The actor Pat Finn, Recognized For Appearances in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at 60 Years Old.

Stateside performer Finn, who was seen in iconic programs including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has passed away aged 60.

The comedic improv actor passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California this Monday following cancer treatment beginning in 2022, per news outlets.

"Pat never met a stranger - just potential friends he hadn't encountered," his family stated in a statement.

They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with joy and exuberance".

A Notable Career on Screen

His debut TV appearance was on the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the titular character's brother.

He was also seen in a repeating character on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.

He appeared as the character Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in 1998, playing a party host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.

Throughout the 90s and 2000s, he appeared as a guest star on numerous hit series, including:

  • "King of Queens"
  • Friends
  • "That '70s Show"
  • House, M.D.

Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons from 2011 to 2018.

His cinematic roles encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.

Beyond the Screen

Away from his television work, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and also taught at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was part of a six-member improv team known as Beer Shark Mice.

"He coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

In a tribute, peer actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, grounded individual you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote on social media.

Pat Finn is survived by his wife Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
